Here are some of our favorite things to do in Singapore.

Friday: Dinner and a Movie

Now that you have arrived in a new city, go ahead and relax with a night in to prepare for a busy weekend ahead. You can cook a simple dinner for yourself at home in your new kitchen.

Feeling indulgent?

Why not order something delicious using a local app like Deliveroo or Foodpanda.

So fire up your SmartTV and get to know your new hometown on the small screen. Crazy Rich Asians is a Hollywood rom-com set almost entirely in Singapore.

In just under two hours you will see famous sites like the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Raffles Hotel, Sentosa Island and Singapore’s Chinatown neighborhood.

Saturday: Natural Wonders

Today you can experience jaw-dropping natural beauty and hit your steps by noon hiking through Singapore’s stunning Southern Ridges.

There are a number of wonderful hikes between a network of three parks: Kent Ridge, Mount Faber and the Labrador Nature Reserve. You could walk anywhere between four and 10 kilometers, depending on your dedication and fitness level.

To begin your adventure, take the MRT to Pasir Panjang station. You’re just a short but very steep climb from the entrance to Kent Ridge Park. You can stop by HortPark to refill your water bottle or purchase a snack before beginning your hike. Each route begins with a walk across the Alexander Arch bridge to the amazing Forest Walk, where you will be eye level with jungle trees.

The four-kilometer hike to Mount Faber takes you through even more beautiful scenery, and you can opt to finish your journey by cable car instead of hiking back to the entrance to Kent Ridge Park.

Sunday: Gardens of Delight

One of Singapore’s top attractions is Gardens by the Bay — and for good reason!

Above all, this fantastical landscape is like no other botanical garden you’ve visited. For one thing, the project cost more than S$1 billion to construct!

So seeing Gardens of Delight is definitely one of the top things to do in Singapore if you’re there.

You can catch a shuttle bus to the gardens anytime between 9 am and 9 pm at the Bayfront Plaza. Rides cost S$3.

The gardens have a series of biodomes that recreate different habitats.

There are also curated gardens representing the different cultures of Singapore and a number of high-tech Supertrees throughout the park. You can even walk between two of these space-age creations on the OCBC Skyway 4D ride (ticket sold separately).

The Gardens by the Bay are just as appealing at night, when the Supertrees are lit up for a special performance.
