The only question now is: Which of these summer festivals are you going to attend?

Juneteenth NYC | June 16-18

Person during Juneteenth celebration

Declared a federal holiday in the US in 2021, Juneteenth commemorates when African Americans were freed from slavery. More specifically, it was the moment, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, when news of the order finally reached Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865.

At Juneteenth NYC, you’ll celebrate with a concert, parade, food trucks, fashion show, and free festival featuring vendors and activities. While last year’s was attended by over 15,000 people, this three-day event promises to be even bigger.

Dragon Boat Festival in Singapore | June 22

Dragon boats in Singapore

This is one of the best summer festivals in Singapore. It’s also known as the Double Fifth Festival since it falls on the Chines calendar’s fifth day of the fifth month. Get set to watch slender boats with dragon heads race on Bedok Reservoir, with drummers setting the pace for each boat’s powerful rowers. You can feel the excitement in the air!

Worked up an appetite just watching the fun? It wouldn’t be a Dragon Boat Festival without rice dumplings. These tasty dumplings are wrapped in bamboo leaves and feature all sorts of fillings, sweet and savory. Make sure you treat your taste buds to a few different kinds.

San Francisco Pride Parade | June 25

June is Pride Month, so it’s the perfect opportunity to show your support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community. Come experience one of the world’s biggest Pride festivals in San Francisco.

San Francisco Pride says that this celebration and parade “is the largest gathering of the LGBT community and allies in the nation.” The parade route will go down Market Street from Embarcadero to the celebration at the Civic Center.

Wimbledon in London | July 3-16

There’s nothing quite like the history and grass courts of Wimbledon. And when we say history, we mean it. Wimbledon began all the way back in 1877! Today, it’s one of tennis’ four major annual tournaments and is always a spectacle.

From big-name players to celebrity spectators to action-packed matches, Wimbledon should definitely be on your sports bucket list. Why not stay at a fully furnished apartment in London and check it off this summer?

Bastille Day Celebrations in Paris | July 14

Parades, parties, music, and fireworks…set off from the Eiffel Tower! What more could you ask for in a summer 2023 celebration? Honoring the start of the French Revolution, Bastille Day is unquestionably France’s biggest national holiday

It’s beloved by both young and old, locals and tourists. Especially the concert followed by fireworks. This must-see event gets even better if you find a great spot to enjoy it, like a Paris apartment with a balcony as you sip a glass of your favorite wine. Cheers!

Comic-Con International in San Diego | July 19-23

Comic-Con states that it’s “dedicated to creating the general public’s awareness of and appreciation for comics and related popular art forms.” That includes books, films, and so much more. Just don’t forget to pack a costume, so you can dress as your favorite character, too.
