What’s more fun than doing laundry? Just about everything. Blueground takes care of the details of moving into a luxury apartment, including placing all furniture and outfitting our kitchens with pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Even though most of our homes come with in-unit washers and dryers it can still be time-consuming to do laundry. In fact, the average person spends three hours a week on laundry!

Three hours a week adds up over time, which is why so many urban dwellers rely on laundry services. Now our guests in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington, D.C. can enjoy the convenience of having their clothes picked up and delivered fresh, thanks to Blueground’s new partnership with laundry service Rinse, while our New York City short-term renters can benefit from our partnership with ByNext.

How a Laundry Service Works

Using a laundry service like Rinse or ByNext is incredibly simple. Just sign up—you’ll find an exclusive discount code on the Blueground app—and schedule a pickup.

On the day you select, a company rep will stop by your home to collect your laundry. ByNext asks that you have your soiled laundry ready in bags. Rinse provides custom bags for users, and their Rinse valets will arrive at your home between 8 and 10 pm. All you have to do is fill them up with whatever clothes you have that need to be washed and then confirm your delivery date and time with your valet.

The ByNext app will let you customize your delivery time and which notifications you receive. You will have your laundry back in 24 hours or less. You can also pick up your laundry after 6 pm the following day.

Rinse sends a reminder text on the day your clean laundry will be delivered, and the apps even let you track where your clothes are in real-time. If you’re not going to be home, no problem: your Rinse valet can leave your finished laundry with your building’s concierge staff.

Guests can schedule a one-time laundry pickup and delivery or sign up for one of Rinse’s monthly plans. All of the company’s recurring plans, called Rinse Repeat, let you pay based on how many bags of laundry you need to be washed each week. Rinse Repeat customers also get free next-day delivery.

VIP Laundry Service

Both ByNext and Rinse operate 7 days a week—so you’ll never have to wait more than a day to have your clean clothes delivered to you—and the company does a lot more than just wash and dry your clothes.

ByNext offers hypoallergenic detergent upon request, and delicate items are separated out into knit bags before being washed and dried.

Similarly, your Rinse valet will sort your clothes by light and dark to avoid any color bleeding in the wash, and they will even check to make sure there are no pens, receipts, or tissues in your pockets before your clothes go into the wash.

Rinse is also happy to accommodate special requests like hypoallergenic detergent or fabric softener, and they will even pick up and deliver items that need to be dry-cleaned along with your regular laundry.
